Exchange student

You are registered in one of our partner universities and you want to study at our faculty as part of an exchange programme

As an exchange student, you may register in the courses listed below. The FaSEST offers various courses taught in French or in English in the field of Economics & Management. In the other fields, Cultural Studies, Geography & Urban Planning, Sociology and Anthropology the courses are only available in French.

At the Institute of Economics and Management, we offer more than 600 courses to exchange students with approximately 100 courses taught in English

In addition to the courses listed above, the University of Lille offers French language courses for international students. These courses are free of charge and organized every semester. It consists of one intensive week (20h) at the beginning of each semester or weekly courses (2h) during the semester. The weekly courses are worth 2 ECTS. Those courses take place on the Cité Scientifique campus.

Application procedures & dates

Make sure that you are registered in one of our partner universities. The International Office of your home university will know whether we have an exchange convention.

Be nominated by your home university via e-mail. Once we receive your nomination from your home university, we will send you the online application procedure.

You have to complete the online application form before the deadline. To finalise your application, you have to complete a learning agreement by choosing the courses you want to study at our Faculty. You have to use the online learning agreement tool following our guidelines.

Application deadlines

  • Fall semester or full year : 15th May
  • Spring semester : 1st November

Once your application to the Faculty of Economics, Social Sciences, Geography and Planning is accepted, you will receive an admission notice via e-mail (acceptance letter and information package).

Once you arrive in Lille, please visit our International Office located in building SH3 – office C017 (see map). We will help you with administrative procedures and provide you a student card and registration certificate.

There is a mandatory pre-entry meeting organised prior to the beginning of the semester. After that, an individual appointment will be organized with your coordinator to discuss your study plans and course choice.

Courses usually start at the beginning of September for the Fall semester and in January for the Spring semester. We recommend you to arrive in Lille one week before, especially for the Fall semester to the extent that the pre-entry meeting is likely to take place in the last week of August.

An academic transcript of records will be issued after your examination period and sent directly to your home coordinator with our grading scale system.
